Day 02 – Negombo

Breakfast at the hotel and city tour in Negombo. Negombo is located approximately 37 km north of the commercial capital of Colombo in Sri Lanka. It islocated at the mouth of the Negombo lagoon. The major beach resort in the West Coast is Negombo. Thewide sandy beaches and the safe sea are the main attractions of Negombo and it is perfectly locatedwithin 7 km from the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, Sri Lanka.
Negombo has a small port, and its economy is mainly based on tourism and its centuries-old fishing industry. Negombo is a traditional fishing town in Sri Lanka, and no wonder the town is a gourmet foodlover’s paradise with seafood available in plenty. Negombo also produces spices, ceramics and brassware. The town has a majority of Roman Catholics along with Buddhists, Hindus and Muslims whileit has been given the name “Little Rome” due to the highly ornate Portuguese-era Roman Catholicchurches found within the township. The town has several buildings that date back to the Dutch andPortuguese colonial era. Attractions in the city include the old Dutch fort gate built in 1672 now a part ofthe prison, the Dutch Canal which was then a supply route to the Dutch administration, old churches andfishing villages.Dinner & Overnight stay in Negombo.

Day 03 – Negombo / Colombo

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Colombo.
Evening Colombo city / Shopping tour.

The originaltraders and settlers - the Arabs, Portuguese, Dutch and the British have left in their wake churches andmonuments, names and religions, costumes and food and smatterings of their languages which havebeen absorbed into the speech of the Sri Lankan. Today, Colombo is a fascinating city - a happy blend ofeast & west, past & present, with a charm of its own. A less known but amazingly true fact is thatColombo has a superb range of high quality restaurants serving food from all over the world and some ofthe best shopping opportunities in Asia. The main seaport of Sri Lanka is in Colombo & adjoining it, isPettah, a local bazaar & trading area. Attractions: Galle Face, Petah Bazaar, Town Hall, Wolfendhal church, Gangaramaya temple, Independence square, Jami UlAlfarJumma Mosque Colombo city tour: You will drive through the commercial areas and drive past Pettah, a colorful Orientalbazaar with a mix of people, ancient vehicles, bargains, mosques and temples. You have a chance to seea Hindu Temple, Buddhist Temple (Gangaramaya temple) and the Jami UlAlfarJumma Mosque ofColombo. Today, you can also do a shopping tour, the Ceramic Corporation famous for its well-knownbrand “Noritake” and ODEL the renowned shopping centre. Day 04 – Colombo / Hikkaduwa

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Hikkaduwa.
Leisure day at beach Hotel.
Hikkaduwa is located 100km south of the country's capital, Colombo. The area is well-known for its coralsanctuary and the proximity of wonderful scuba diving sites to explore. With its unique beach culture, Hikkaduwa has long been the most popular diving and surfing area in Sri Lanka. In the centre of Hikkaduwa, a lagoon also creates a beautiful and safe snorkelling area. Further south, where the currents are stronger, surfing is the dominant water activity. The impressive coral reef runs just offshoreand is populated by exotic fish and sea turtles that come ashore on this beach to lay their eggs.Dinner & Overnight stay in Hikkaduwa.

Day 05 – Hikkaduwa / Mirissa / Galle / Hikkaduwa

Early morning departure to Mirissa to do whale watching. After that transfer to Galle to do city tour. Back to hotel.

Galle Harbor was frequented by Chinese and Arabians sailors before the Portuguese occupied Galle in the 16th century. The Dutch captured Galle in1640 and handed it over to the British in 1796.
History reveals that the Chinese Admiral Zheng He, who commanded seven great voyages through the South China Seas and the Indian Ocean between 1405 and 1433, erected a tablet in 1409 in Galle in commemoration of his second visit to Sri Lanka. The trilingual tablet discovered in 1911 has inscriptions in Chinese, Tamil and Arabic languages, suggesting that the Chinese were dealing with a cosmopolitan trading community at that time. City tour: During your city tour you will visit the Galle Dutch Fort which is among the most popular sites inGalle where it attracts those who value archaeological reserves and heritage. It is known as the oldestfort in Asia, named as a world heritage by UNESCO.
Inside the fort, travelers can find other attractions such as the Dutch Museum, which contains paintings,pictures and furniture of the Dutch Reformed Church. The fort is built on small peninsula that can beeasily accessed from the Galle town. It is the best place to visit during an evening as the picturesquescenery of the sunset can be witnessed at its best. The trilingual inscription is in the National Museum inColombo and a copy can be found in the Maritime Museum in Galle.

Day 06 – Hikkaduwa / Beruwala

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Beruwala. En-route do boat ride in Madhu river and visit Turtle Hatchery.
Beruwala is broad and attractive beach called the “Golden Mile” is a pristine beach of golden sand, wellsheltered by the palm groves that spread along the coastal stretch. The wide beach that basks in theglorious tropical sun from the direction of the ocean is well shaded with the lush greenery of the landside.
Beruwala has excellent water sport facilities such as water scooter rides, wind surfing, parasailing, waterskiing etc. While the bay beach is safe for swimming in any month throughout the year, it also affordsopportunity for Deep-sea Fishing and Wreck & Coral Reef Diving.
